1. Your Valuation

How do you value my vehicle?

To value your vehicle, we use a combination of factors. We have an industry database that gives us much of the basic information we need, and this provides us with a valuation start point. However, the database is only half of the story. The remaining information we require is provided by you, our customer, and this is where we need an accurate and honest assessment of the vehicles condition. Once we have all the relevant details, we can provide a fair valuation for the vehicle and this is the offer we make.

How long does the valuation last?

There are numerous factors that effect a vehicles valuation and in some instance’s changes can happen daily. Due to the current climate all our valuations are valid for a 24 hour period, unless otherwise stated.

Why don’t you buy every vehicle?

We do not buy every vehicle but the ones we do buy, we pay very competitive prices for. In general, we only buy cars under 60,000 miles, bikes under 30,000 miles and vans under 80,000 miles. We will consider vehicles outside these ranges, but this is done on a case by case basis. By limiting the vehicles we do buy, we are able to offer a higher level of service to our customers. If however, your vehicle is over the set mileage criteria, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our contact form.

I can’t find my vehicle on your website?

Our database is extremely comprehensive so if your vehicle doesn’t come up we’d ask that in the first instance you double check that you have entered the details correctly. If you still cannot find your vehicle, please contact us on 0161 5332450 and we’ll be happy to help.

Do you have to use the online form?

Our online form has been fully designed to gather as much information as possible as quickly as possible. Providing you have the necessary information relating to your vehicle you should be able to complete it within 5 minutes. However, we understand that not everyone wishes to enter their details online and so we are happy to collect the information we need over the phone. Please contact us on 0161 5332450 or visit our contact page to request a callback.

Do you charge an admin fee?

Unlike many of our competitors we do not charge an administration fee when we buy your vehicle, regardless of the value. If you confirm you wish to sell your vehicle to us and then change your mind, or the vehicle is found to have been incorrectly described, we reserve the right to charge a fee payable to cover costs we have incurred. Full details of these fees can be found in our terms and conditions.

I have outstanding finance on the vehicle. Will you still buy it?

Yes, we will buy vehicles that have outstanding finance.

If your vehicle is worth more than the outstanding amount of finance, then we will pay off the outstanding loan and pay the remainder to you.

If your vehicle is worth less than the outstanding amount of finance, then we will pay off the loan and ask you pay us the difference between the loan and the vehicle value.

What happens if I don’t fully disclose the condition of my vehicle?

We value your vehicle based on standard industry information and the details you provide to us regarding its condition. Every vehicle is different, and our valuations team will ask you for a lot of information so we can provide you with an accurate offer.

The valuation you receive is only as accurate as the information you provide us.

When we collect your vehicle, we also carry out a detailed inspection, and may require a test drive. If you have not disclosed all the details regarding your vehicle then we may need to provide a revised valuation based on its true condition or rescind our quoted offer. In this instance, we reserve the right to charge a fee payable to cover costs we have incurred. Full details of these fees can be found in our terms and conditions.

What information do I need to obtain a vehicle valuation?

When you enter your vehicle registration our clever system will automatically gather lots of information about your vehicle from the DVLA and other sources. This makes the process for you much quicker, but we still need you to provide us with one or two details.

You Will Need:

• Registration Number
• Vehicle Mileage
• Service History
• MOT Details
• Your Contact Details

Why do you need to call me? Why can’t I enter all the details online?

There are effectively two ways for companies such as ours to value a vehicle. The first method relies on the customer filling in a long form and entering lots of details about all aspects of the vehicles condition. A computer-generated valuation is then produced. There is nothing wrong with this method, but valuations are very often wide of the mark and the customer does not get an accurate quote.

The second method, and the one we employ, is to use a much shorter form that gathers the essential information and then call the customer to work through the detail. Our team have been specifically trained to accomplish this task quickly and effectively and they know exactly what questions to ask. The information we collect in this way is far more accurate than can be achieved from the first approach and it allows us to provide a much more accurate valuation.

My vehicle has been modified. Will you still buy it?

Providing the vehicle fulfils the mileage criteria, we will want to buy it. If your vehicle has been modified, then please explain these details to our team member they call you – often we will only consider purchasing vehicles with factory associated modifications fitted by the retailer.

2. Selling Your Vehicles to Us

What if my name is not on the V5 Document?

The V5 document, also known as the log book, has details of the vehicles registered keeper. To prevent fraud, we will only buy a vehicle from the person whose name is on the V5 document, unless we have written consent from the registered keeper to pay a third party.

I’ve lost my V5 document; will you still buy my vehicle?

We are not able to buy your vehicle if you are not in possession of the V5c document with your name on it.
If you have lost the V5 document, then you can obtain a new one by completing a V62 form which is available from the DVLA, post offices or online at www.gov.uk

Can I sell a vehicle on behalf of a friend or relative?

Yes, you can but we require a letter of authorisation from the owner and we will only pay the funds into an account in the same name as the registered keeper.
Please feel free to contact us for more details.

Will you buy a vehicle with private plates?

We are happy to provide a valuation for your vehicle if it has a private registration plate. We do not trade in number plates and if your private plate has a monetary value this would not be reflected in the valuation we provide.
